In February 2007 Verra Cruz opened up for San Diego rocklords Switchfoot on their first European tour in years. The gigs were amazing and opened up a whole new audience for VC whose set was mostly made up of songs from their debut album Emancipation Day.
On the tour was new Cruz sound man Jonny "Quche" Nott who mixed the boys live and also pressed record every night. The result is the Strange Food Live EP - their entire set from start to finish at Silkeborg Musikhus in Denmark on Friday 2nd February 2007. Unlike many other 'live' records, this is not overdubbed or edited, polished and cleaned up - but this is the sound of a band rocking as hard as is physically possible and loving every moment.
It was later mentioned that the gig was Switchfoot's first ever in Scandinavia and people had travelled miles (some even from Sweden) for a night of frenzied rock. Which accounts for the electric atmosphere of the gig and why this night on the tour was so special. Strange Food Live EP is a limited release with only 1000 in print which means that once they’re gone….they’re quite literally gone!
